Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Charles Bennet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Olivier Denis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Denis comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Undead kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charles Bennet! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Olivier Denis! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Steve Montenegro and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bennet rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Denis moves out of range and avoids them all easily. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Denis checks a leg kick. Denis scores with a head kick.
Denis throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Bennet ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Denis thuds his shin into the meat of Bennet's side. Denis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Bennet keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Bennet slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bennet pushes Denis off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Bennet throws a nice looking combination but Denis bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Bennet misses with a double jab.
Denis fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Denis clinches with his opponent.
Bennet wants to get back to striking at distance but Denis won't allow it.
Denis gets underhooks to prevent Bennet's takedown attempt.

Denis trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Bennet is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Denis is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Denis wanted to stand there but Bennet had control of the position. Denis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Bennet seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bennet is on top in guard.
Denis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bennet is controlling him. Denis not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bennet controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Bennet is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Bennet decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. No luck for Denis with that takedown attempt. Bennet has a takedown stuffed.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Bennet swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Good exchange - Bennet coming out on top. Denis throws a wild body kick that Bennet sees coming a mile off. Bennet cracks Denis with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Bennet connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. The crowd cheers as Bennet lands an impressive looking overhand right. Denis doesn't seem phased though. Denis moves in looking to clinch but Bennet pushes him off. Denis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bennet paws at him with a jab and circles away. Bennet lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Denis looks gassed! Denis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Charles Bennet has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Olivier Denis. Bennet lands a with a good body shot. Bennet shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bennet content just to control the position here. Bennet seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Denis for as long as he can get away with. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Denis wants to clinch up but Bennet keeps it at a distance. Denis fails in his attempt to clinch. Bennet throws a nice looking combination but Denis bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Jab by Bennet. Denis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bennet paws at him with a jab and circles away. Bennet misses with the combination.

Bennet connects with a crisp jab. Denis has his takedown stuffed and Bennet counters with a lovely shot to the body. Bennet bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Denis's head. Charles Bennet is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Denis is breathing heavily. Bennet scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Olivier Denis has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bennet lands a jab. Bennet lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Denis is looking to score with low kicks. Bennet throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Nice cross by Bennet. Bennet throws a series of strikes that have Denis backpedaling.
Denis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Denis takes a body punch but keeps moving. Bennet connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Bennet throws a leg kick but Denis moved away. Bennet avoids the head kick by Denis.
Bennet thuds a left hand into Denis's body. Bennet lands with a nice body punch. Charles Bennet is winning the standup battle so far. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bennet moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Bennet throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bennet changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Denis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Denis is trying to escape the position but Bennet is controlling the position. Bennet stands up. Bennet shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Bennet controlling the pace for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bennet with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Bennet tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Charles Bennet just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Denis lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Charles Bennet dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Olivier Denis's cut. That's time! Bennet's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Denis takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Bennet throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Denis darts in trying to clinch and Bennet cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Bennet misses with a two punch combination.
Bennet throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Bennet ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Denis moves away. Bennet lands with a nice combination. Denis backs away looking to recover. Denis takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Denis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Denis throws a head kick that misses. Denis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bennet paws at him with a jab and circles away. Bennet is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Olivier Denis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Denis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Bennet closes the distance and lands a one-two. Danga de danga de dang - Bennet scores with a four punch combination!
That's one minute gone in the round. Bennet cracks Denis with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Denis takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Bennet!
Bennet looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Bennet digs a good hook to Denis's body.
Bennet fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Denis throws a head kick that misses. Denis takes a shot right to the bread basket. Bennet throws a series of strikes that have Denis backpedaling.
Bennet cracks a nice hook into Denis's ribs. Bennet looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Bennet postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Bennet stands and steps away. Denis gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Denis misses with a takedown attempt and Bennet counters with a straight right hand. Denis takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Bennet drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Bennet seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Bennet is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Denis can do to turn this around? Bennet gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. A punch combination from Bennet misses. Bennet throws a head kick that misses. Bennet scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Denis doesn't seem bothered though. Denis has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Bennet fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Denis on the side of the head.

A left lands for Bennet. Bennet scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Bennet connects with a body shot. Bennet throws a combination. Denis tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Bennet throws a leg kick that is checked and Denis counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Bennet is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Denis prevents the takedown attempt.
Denis creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Bennet's defenses. Denis jumps guard but Bennet stands there with Denis around his waist. Denis gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Bennet pulls Denis in close to prevent any damage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Denis thows a big elbow that misses. Olivier Denis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Charles Bennet is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Denis is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bennet is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bennet has escaped and now he's on top! Bennet is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
And that's the end of the fight! Charles Bennet showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bennet, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
