Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Juninho Palaver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Gonzaga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gonzaga has chosen DMX as his entrance music. Palaver has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luis Gonzaga!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Luis Engracia and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzaga shoots in for a takedown but Palaver shows good takedown defense.
Palaver is breathing heavily.
Palaver changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gonzaga looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Palaver works to advance to full mount. Gonzaga defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
You get the feeling that Gonzaga really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Gonzaga is trying to escape the mount.
Palaver pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Gonzaga is looking to get to half guard.
Poor strikes thrown by Palaver there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Palaver is working for a guillotine from mount but Gonzaga frees his head quite easily.
Gonzaga gets back to half guard.
Gonzaga has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Palaver. Oh but Gonzaga has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Palaver goes limp - he's gone! Gonzaga jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
