 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waterman shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Waterman advances to half guard.
Waterman is trying to work for a kimura but Peterson is defending well.
Waterman frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Waterman seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Peterson is holding on tight.
Peterson can't escape the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Waterman working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Peterson is trying desperately to improve position. Peterson prevents Waterman from taking his back.
Waterman wants to finish this one by submission but Peterson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Waterman.
