Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Minatay Mibangon (ranked 23880 p4p, 23833 weight class) and Wala Sapi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 47 - 9, fighting out of Las Vegas, Minatay Mibangon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 39 - 40 - 8, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wala Sapi!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Sapi darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Mibangon wants to control but Sapi is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Sapi performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sapi content to control rather than advance.
Mibangon is concentrating on defense, preventing Sapi from advancing position.

Sapi takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Sapi scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Mibangon is controlling Sapi's trapped leg to prevent Sapi from advancing to side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mibangon regains full guard. Nicely done.
Sapi controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mibangon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sapi as he avoids it easily.
And Sapi responds with a good body kick, but Mibangon manages to step out the way in time.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mibangon shoots in looking for a takedown. Sapi tries to sprawl out of it but Mibangon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sapi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Wala Sapi dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Sapi looking to score a takedown here. Mibangon is defending well but Sapi drives through and ends up in Mibangon's guard.

Sapi avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Mibangon pulls Sapi in to control the position.
Sapi is stalling in the full guard.
Sapi has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mibangon.

Sapi shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sapi showed some decent athleticism there.

Mibangon keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Mibangon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sapi is working away from the top position though.
Sapi keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Mibangon wants to get back to full guard but Sapi has mounted him!
Sapi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Wala Sapi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!


Sapi throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mibangon tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sapi is in Mibangon's guard.
Sapi not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sapi's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mibangon has control of Sapi's left arm, preventing Sapi from doing any damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sapi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Mibangon is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sapi controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Sapi gets caught napping as Mibangon dives in and scores a takedown. Sapi manages to retain guard.
Mibangon sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Sapi seems keen to control Mibangon's posture.
Sapi is continuing to stall.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Wala Sapi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Wala Sapi has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sapi has control of Mibangon's left arm, preventing Mibangon from doing any damage.
Minatay Mibangon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

I would just about give that final round to Wala Sapi.
Well Sapi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
