Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dezzi Island (ranked 4178 p4p, 4076 weight class) and Gennaday Golovkan (ranked 422 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dezzi Island! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gennaday Golovkan! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Santiago Holmes and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Golovkan misses with a takedown attempt - Island sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Golovkan moves out of range as Island strikes. Golovkan clinches. Golovkan manages to pull guard.
Golovkan is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Island presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Golovkan fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Island's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Golovkan dives in and grabs Island's left leg, looking for a takedown. Island pushes down on Golovkan's head and hops out. Dezzi Island has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gennaday Golovkan. Island throws a jab when Golovkan was well out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Golovkan looks for a takedown but Island sprawls well. Golovkan tries to clinch there but Island circles away.
Golovkan keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Island. Island displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Golovkan.
That's one minute gone in the round. A combination from Island does no damage. Golovkan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Island is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Island knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Golovkan on the ground. Golovkan stands up and waves to Island to follow him. Island throws a big shot that misses. Island slaps away a takedown attempt from Golovkan, before circling back to the center of the mat. Golovkan tries to clinch but Island is having none of it. Island throws the left hand but Golovkan avoids the punch easily. Island throws an off balance right hand
and Golovkan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Golovkan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Island throws out the jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Golovkan gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Golovkan prevents a body shot from Island. Island breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Golovkan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Golovkan shoots in looking for a takedown. Island tries to sprawl out of it but Golovkan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Island manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. A little feinted left hand from Island on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Island looks to land a right hand but Golovkan moved out of range. Island misses with a looping left. Island drops Golovkan with a beautiful combination! Golovkan stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Island is looking for the KO!
It looks like Gennaday Golovkan has been cut. The fighters circling - Island throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Island misses with a wild combination.
Golovkan moves away from the strike by Island.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Golovkan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
An attempted straight right counter from Island misses the target. Golovkan uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Island. The fight moves into the clinch position. Golovkan jumps guard but Island stands there with Golovkan around his waist. Golovkan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Golovkan pulls guard effortlessly. Golovkan is looking to stand up but Island isn't so interested in that idea. Golovkan has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Island is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Island wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Golovkan goes for a takedown attempt but Island pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Island misses with a left hand so Golovkan counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Golovkan controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Golovkan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Island is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Island wants to sweep but no luck. Golovkan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Island not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Golovkan content to stall in guard here. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Dezzi Island will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Gennaday Golovkan's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Island throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Golovkan moves into the clinch. Island struggles to land a body shot inside as Golovkan controls his hands.
Island has Golovkan pushed against the cage. Golovkan scores with a nice hook to the head. Island tries to break free but Golovkan pushes him back against the cage. Island wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Golovkan tries to circle away but Island has him pinned against the cage. Golovkan changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Island fights it off and pushes away nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Golovkan ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Gennaday Golovkan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Island waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Golovkan. Island swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Golovkan throws a big counter head kick but Island avoids it with no problem. Golovkan wants to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Golovkan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Island defends it nicely. Golovkan takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Island throws a hook but Golovkan blocks it. Golovkan fails with a takedown attempt. Dezzi Island has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gennaday Golovkan. Golovkan tries to clinch but fails miserably and Island counters with a crisp one two that drops Golovkan! Island thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Golovkan to his feet! Golovkan is in big trouble!
Golovkan is rocked! Dezzi Island is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Island is stalking Golovkan. Golovkan circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Island, and it's lights out! Golovkan really payed the price for that rookie mistake.
