Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dezzi Island (ranked 3962 p4p, 5089 weight class) and King Hippo (ranked 383 p4p, 455 weight class). King Hippo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dezzi Island! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, King Hippo! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Santiago Holmes and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hippo throws a lazy right hand but Island sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Hippo blocks a jab. Island sets himself, and Hippo steps forward looking for the clinch! Island avoids it this time. Island misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hippo.
Hippo slips under a jab from Island. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Hippo! But no joy. Dezzi Island seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Island throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A looping hook to the body misses from Island. Hippo does a little dance to reset his feet. Island swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Hippo counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Hippo swings for the body but Island moves out of range.
Island throws a looping overhand right but Hippo ducks down to avoid it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hippo lands with a good body shot. Hippo looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Island throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hippo. Island throws the left hand but Hippo avoids the punch easily. Hippo let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Hippo throws a jab when Island was well out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hippo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Island. Island misses with a hook. Hippo ducked under it nicely. Island just misses with a punch to the body.

It looks like King Hippo has been cut. Island gets tackled into the cage by Hippo. Hippo maintains the clinch. Hippo prevents a body shot from Island. Hippo tries to throw a body punch but Island avoids it by throwing Hippo back against the cage. Hippo lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Island backwards. Hippo misses with a punch to the body.
Island definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Hippo misses with a short punch on the inside. Hippo fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Island wants to get back to striking at distance but Hippo won't allow it.
Hippo can't find room to land a body shot as Island controls the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hippo misses with a hook from the clinch. Hippo lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Island pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A looping hook to the body misses from Island. Hippo does a little dance to reset his feet. Hippo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Island.
Hippo misses with a wild body shot. Island misses with a series of wild punches.
This has been an exciting period of action! Hippo displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Island throws out the jab. A big right from Hippo misses. Island throws an off balance right hand
and Hippo counters with a stiff right hand. Hippo drives through and clinches with Island against the cage.
Island lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Island wants to get back to striking at distance but Hippo won't allow it.
Island blocks an uppercut.
Island wants to break the clinch but can't.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Hippo. Hippo lands with a short head shot on the inside. Hippo misses with a body punch.
Hippo lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Hippo blocks an uppercut.
Hippo throws a head punch that misses. Island tries to circle away but Hippo has him pinned against the cage. Hippo throws a head punch that misses. Island tries to work over Hippo's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. A head punch blocked on the inside by Island. Island tries to break the clinch but Hippo is controlling the position. Hippo tries to throw a body punch but Island avoids it by throwing Hippo back against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hippo. Island has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Island is trying to force a seperation but Hippo has the dominant position. Hippo misses with a hook to the ribs.
Island breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Island staying out of range there. Island throws a lazy uppercut
and Hippo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Hippo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Island throws an overhand right that lands on Hippo's shoulder, as Hippo tries to avoid the shot. Island looks to score with a jab to the body but Hippo is just out of range. Hippo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hippo bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Island's head.
Island is rocked! BAM! Hippo delivers a spinning backfist that drops Island like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Spinning Backfist). King Hippo! King Hippo decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
