Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ripp Colton (ranked 3797 p4p, 5625 weight class) and Bas Anderson (ranked 202 p4p, 476 weight class). Bas Anderson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Ripp Colton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Bas Anderson! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anderson dives in and grabs Colton's left leg, looking for a takedown. Colton pushes down on Anderson's head and hops out. Colton swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Anderson looks for a takedown but Colton sprawls well. Anderson lands a head kick. Colton smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
It looks like Ripp Colton has been cut. Colton leaves Anderson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Ripp Colton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bas Anderson. Colton misses with a straight left. Anderson listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Anderson moves out of range of the strikes. Anderson darts in looking for a takedown but Colton gets double underhooks and turns Anderson into the cage. Colton waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Anderson. Bas Anderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Decent striking displayed by Anderson there. Colton on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Anderson. Anderson obviously looking to wear him down.

Anderson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Colton tries to avoid it but Anderson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Colton to the ground. Colton escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Anderson looks winded! Colton misses the body punch and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Anderson staying out of range there. Colton pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Colton gets caught napping as Anderson dives in and scores a takedown. Colton manages to retain guard. Colton has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Colton manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Anderson manages to get himself to full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Colton's corner is telling him to maintain position. Colton passes Anderson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Colton sitting and controlling from the half guard. Colton is pressing down on Anderson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Anderson is holding on for now. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Colton in particular looking to stall.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ripp Colton dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ripp Colton's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Anderson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Colton throws a jab but it's blocked by Anderson. Colton stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Colton wants it to stay on the feet. The fighters circling - Colton throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Colton pushes Anderson up against the cage in a clinch. Colton is trying to force a seperation but Anderson has the dominant position. Colton misses with a punch on the inside.
Colton tries to throw a body punch but Anderson avoids it by throwing Colton back against the cage. Colton lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Colton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Colton jabbing away but nothing is landing. Anderson misses with a two punch combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anderson has a takedown stuffed. Anderson is breathing heavily. A looping hook to the body misses from Colton. and Anderson counters with a left and a right that stings Colton. Colton is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Anderson can do to turn this around?

Anderson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Colton avoids it really well and circles away. Ripp Colton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bas Anderson. Colton clinches up with Anderson and pushes him back against the cage. Anderson blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Colton moves into range and clinches up with Anderson.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Colton throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Colton misses with a right hand and Anderson counters with a nice body shot. Colton takes a swing at Anderson's ribcage but misses. Colton throws an overhand right that lands on Anderson's shoulder, as Anderson tries to avoid the shot. Anderson looks like he wants to counter punch here. Anderson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Colton was covering up waiting for the punch and Anderson finishes the takedown easily into guard. Colton controlling the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Colton has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Colton continues to stall.

Colton takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Colton throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Colton has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Anderson avoids a lazy jab quite easily. A slow jab from Colton misses its intended target. Ripp Colton is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Colton closes the distance and clinches. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Colton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Colton moves into range and clinches up with Anderson. Colton pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bas Anderson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ripp Colton is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Anderson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Colton.
And that's the end of the fight! Ripp Colton showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Colton, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
