Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Ari Katajamaki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Michael Washington! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Katajamaki is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Washington's half guard. Washington pushes Katajamaki off but Katajamaki dives into side control.

You can see the frustration on Washington's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Washington parries the strikes from Katajamaki easily there. Katajamaki is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Washington to escape.
Washington is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Katajamaki asserts his dominance and retains side control. Katajamaki lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Katajamaki works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Washington is rocked! Washington takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Washington is still in real trouble! Can Katajamaki finish him? This has been an exciting period of action! Katajamaki lands a strong strike to the head of Washington. That's dazed him! Katajamaki looking to finish here. Washington is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Katajamaki lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ari Katajamaki! After winning the bout, Ari Katajamaki thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
