Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nicholas Sartre (ranked 3501 p4p, 3872 weight class) and John Boris (ranked 358 p4p, 390 weight class). John Boris has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Boris!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sartre throws a body punch but Boris moves out of range.
Sartre punishes Boris's body with a nice straight punch.

Boris connects with a looping right hand.
Boris is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

It looks like John Boris has been cut.
Boris comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Sartre throws a nice inside leg kick.
Nice takedown defense from Sartre. No joy for Boris on that attempt.

We've been hearing good reports from Sartre's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Boris got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sartre has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Boris has managed to get both his arms back between Sartre's legs - danger averted.
