Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Geordi La Forge (ranked 2736 p4p, 2616 weight class) and Kiba Yamasaki (ranked 173 p4p, 166 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Geordi La Forge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kiba Yamasaki!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamasaki misses with a left hand
and La Forge cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Yamasaki is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in La Forge's half guard.
La Forge is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Yamasaki's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Yamasaki's back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Yamasaki's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

La Forge has the hooks in. Yamasaki is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yamasaki felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Yamasaki tries to escape but La Forge has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Yamasaki is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
La Forge is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Yamasaki with him. Yamasaki is trying to defend but La Forge has an arm under the chin now! Yamasaki grimaces and is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Geordi La Forge!
Geordi La Forge decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
