Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Freaky Hiroshima!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mario Waters!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waters keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hiroshima ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Waters moves away.
As Hiroshima backs off Waters throws a huge counter combo but Hiroshima manages to avoid it all.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Waters.
Waters trying to control the action but Hiroshima is working from the bottom.
Waters just content to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hiroshima manages to work his way to half guard, despite Waters's best efforts.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Still in half guard, Waters seems content to control.
Hiroshima trying to hold on to Waters's head to control him but Waters postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Waters uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hiroshima.
Hiroshima tries a low kick but Waters avoids it.
Waters tries to clinch up.
Hiroshima shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Waters! But no joy.
Waters is looking to clinch.
Hiroshima is looking to counter the offense by Waters and move into the clinch.

Hiroshima gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Waters being controlled here momentarily.
Waters wants to control from the top but Hiroshima keeps moving.

Hiroshima is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hiroshima tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Hiroshima is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Waters is looking to control Hiroshima's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Waters avoid being mounted?

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hiroshima is taking a breather. Waters says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Waters is trying to control but can't.
Waters is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Hiroshima wants to take a breather but Waters is having none of it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Hiroshima ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Waters moves away.

Waters closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Waters seems to be working for a kimura but Hiroshima defends the submission attempt.
Waters is thwarting Hiroshima's attempts to control the position.
Hiroshima is trying to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hiroshima has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Waters is working away from the top position though.

Hiroshima slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Waters drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hiroshima manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Waters has Hiroshima in his guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hiroshima wants to pass the guard but Waters is keeping the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hiroshima trying to control but Waters is working from the bottom.

Hiroshima avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Waters looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Waters.
Waters tries to clinch but Hiroshima moves out of range.
Hiroshima tries to counter by clinching up but Waters breaks away and moves out of range.
Mario Waters seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hiroshima. Waters does a little dance to reset his feet.

Hiroshima gets a clinch.
Hiroshima lands with a short shot to the head.
Hiroshima throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Waterss head.
Waters fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Hiroshima pulls guard successfully.
Waters sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Hiroshima wants to sweep here but Waters controlling him for the moment.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Freaky Hiroshima dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Waters.
Waters changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hiroshima tries to avoid it but Waters manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hiroshima to the ground. Hiroshima escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hiroshima wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Hiroshima swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Waters keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Waters shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hiroshima's guard.
Waters trying to control but Hiroshima is working from the bottom.

Hiroshima looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Hiroshima is adopting a defensive guard.
Hiroshima lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Hiroshima wants to control from the top but Waters keeps moving.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Waters is trying to keep Hiroshima in close.

Hiroshima wants to lay and pray for a moment but Waters keeps working.

I would just about give that final round to Mario Waters.
I think Waters has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
