Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Marsh (ranked 1405 p4p, 1588 weight class) and Hanji Momtun (ranked 95 p4p, 105 weight class). Marsh comes to the cage accompanied by Niji no Conquistador - Ryokaidesu. Daniel Marsh has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daniel Marsh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Hanji Momtun! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Momtun darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Marsh wants to improve his position but Momtun is controlling well.
Momtun winds up and cracks Marsh with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Momtun not landing any meaningful shots this time. Marsh trying to hold on to Momtun's head to control him but Momtun postures up.
Marsh looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Marsh gets back to full guard.
Momtun tries to free his leg and advance position but Marsh is retaining full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Momtun throws a big right hand that misses. Momtun postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Momtun advances to half guard. Marsh is looking to control Momtun's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Marsh avoid being mounted? Momtun slips a nice elbow through Marsh's hands, connecting with Marsh's forehead.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marsh wants to get back to full guard. Marsh is trying to maintain the position but Momtun is very close to passing his half guard. Momtun is nestled in close to Marsh, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Momtun not landing any meaningful shots this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Marsh is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Momtun stalling away here and it's allowed Marsh to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Momtun lands a couple of digs. Momtun is looking to work some ground and pound but Marsh has wrist control. Marsh wants to sweep here but Momtun controlling him for the moment. Momtun trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Momtun trying to control but Marsh is working from the bottom.

Momtun postures up in Marsh's guard and throws a big left but Marsh blocks it. Marsh controls Momtun momentarily but Momtun frees himself. Momtun stopping the sweep attempt from Marsh. Momtun trying to control the position from guard on top but Marsh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Marsh is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Marsh will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Marsh is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Momtun working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Marsh bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Momtun's guard. Momtun looking to hit a scissor sweep but Marsh is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marsh trying to control the position from guard on top but Momtun is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Momtun looking for a sweep. Not yet Momtun, not yet. Marsh trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Marsh stops Momtun from standing up. Marsh passes easily into side control. Nice work. Marsh wants to control but Momtun is keeping him busy. Momtun tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marsh working away. Marsh working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Momtun manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Momtun is refusing to be controlled, as Marsh sits in half guard. Momtun trying to control from the bottom.

Momtun wants to control but Marsh is keeping busy and won't allow it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Marsh trying to mount his opponent but Momtun defends it. Marsh trying to control from half guard but Momtun is working away. Momtun trying to hold on to Marsh's head to control him but Marsh postures up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Hanji Momtun dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Marsh pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Marsh cracks Momtun with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Nice shot by Momtun. Marsh lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Momtun will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Marsh bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Marsh takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Nice uppercut lands for Marsh. That snapped Momtun's head back.
Marsh stuffs the takedown. Marsh digs a good body shot into Momtun's ribs. We've been told by Marsh's head coaches at Kitano Fight Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Momtun swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Marsh lands with a hook. Momtun tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Marsh scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Momtun doesn't seem bothered though. Momtun fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Daniel Marsh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hanji Momtun. No luck with that takedown attempt from Momtun. Marsh punishes Momtun's body with a nice straight punch. Marsh fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Momtun shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Marsh as he avoids it easily. Marsh swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Marsh is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Momtun can do to turn this around?
That's one minute gone in the round. Momtun takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Marsh thuds his right hand into Momtun's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Marsh with a jab. Daniel Marsh is winning the standup battle so far. Momtun shoots for a double leg takedown but Marsh sprawls well. He's pushed Momtun's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Marsh connects with a body shot that sends Momtun's belly button to the back. Momtun misses with a looping right. Marsh lands a nice shot to the body.
Momtun throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Marsh's waist but Marsh gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Momtun off to one side. Marsh getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Marsh uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Momtun.

Marsh connects with the punch. Marsh lands the left hand. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Marsh ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Momtun goes for a double leg but Marsh avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Marsh continues to drive forward. Marsh was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Marsh throws a good cross that connects.
Momtun looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Marsh is fending him off so far but Momtun persists. Nope, Marsh circles away and we're back to standing. Momtun is breathing heavily. Momtun takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Marsh bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Momtun's head backwards. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Marsh uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Momtun.
Marsh dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Marsh fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Momtun has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Marsh lunges at Momtun with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Momtun's hand. Marsh is looking to slow Momtun down with leg kicks. Marsh lands a jab to Momtun's midsection.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marsh lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Momtun shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Marsh manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Momtun postures up.
Marsh looking for a sweep. Not yet Marsh, not yet. Marsh had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Momtun defends it easily. Momtun content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Marsh wants to sweep but no luck. Marsh looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Momtun throws a big elbow that misses. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Momtun working some strikes from top position. Momtun is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Marsh dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round! Momtun takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Momtun shoots in looking for a takedown. Marsh tries to sprawl out of it but Momtun keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Marsh manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Momtun tries for a takedown but Marsh sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Momtun has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Marsh finds it's way round the side to connect with Momtun's head. Marsh lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Momtun walks into a straight right hand from Marsh. Momtun decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Marsh is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Momtun's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Momtun's back! Marsh tightening his grip on Momtun, looking for the choke. Momtun rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Marsh is looking for a kimura but Momtun is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Marsh to get the leverage. Momtun gets full guard. Marsh wants to control from the top but Momtun keeps moving. Momtun has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Marsh has passed into side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Momtun can do anything to dispel that myth. Marsh tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Marsh has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Marsh is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Momtun has escaped the position, nice work there. Momtun gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Marsh tries to get the hooks in deep but Momtun pushed the leg off. Marsh is really struggling to control Momtun but he's trying to hold on to the position. Momtun is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Momtun trying to control the action but Marsh just sinks the hooks in. Marsh is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
I really don't envy Momtun right now.

Marsh is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Momtun is pressing down on Marsh's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Marsh drops back looking for a leg! Momtun is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Momtun manages to kick Marsh off! Marsh jumps back into Momtun's guard. Momtun keeping moving, preventing Marsh from controlling successfully. Marsh pushes down on Momtun's leg and manages to get into half guard. Momtun wants to control but Marsh is keeping busy.
And that's the end of the fight! Daniel Marsh showed his dominance in that final round. I think Marsh has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
