Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Earl McCoy (ranked 2950 p4p, 3049 weight class) and Charles Lee Ray (ranked 331 p4p, 340 weight class). Earl McCoy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Earl McCoy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Charles Lee Ray! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Ray with that takedown attempt. McCoy throwing a counter right hand but Ray manages to avoid it. Ray throws a good cross that connects.
We've been told by McCoy's head coaches at Makweingdo Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. McCoy moves forwards but Ray connects with a nice, crisp jab. Ray keeps the fight on the outside. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A punch lands to the side of McCoy 's head but he takes it in his stride. Ray moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Ray scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
That's one minute gone in the round. McCoy stuffs the takedown. It looked like McCoy wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Ray misses with a wild combination.

Ray breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jab, jab by Ray - just one landing. Earl McCoy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Some wild striking there from Ray.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McCoy takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Ray tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but McCoy defends well and Ray ends up having to push McCoy into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch. Earl McCoy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles Lee Ray.

A countering left hand to the body from Ray misses. Ray misses the jab. Ray lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ray. McCoy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ray swats him away and circles back towards the center. Ray is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! McCoy had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush. Ray lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Some wild striking there from Ray.

Nice body punch from Ray. Ray feints a jab promting McCoy to slip. Ray then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. McCoy slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Ray tries to bum rush McCoy with a series of wild strikes but McCoy uses good footwork to avoid the assault. It looked like McCoy wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Ray fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. McCoy looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Ray scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Ray throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
McCoy tries to clinch but Ray is having none of it. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ray stalks McCoy and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into McCoy's face. McCoy staggers backwards, shaken. Ray works over McCoy's head and body with a nice combination. Ray throws a combination. McCoy tries to block but a couple of punches get through. McCoy tries to close the distance and clinch but Ray swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ray bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps McCoy's head backwards. McCoy gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. McCoy has a couple of punches blocked by Ray.

Ray might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. McCoy tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Charles Lee Ray is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ray misses with a looping right.

McCoy was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. McCoy looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Ray misses with an uppercut. Ray jabbing away but nothing is landing.
And that's the end of the fight! Charles Lee Ray comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Ray has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Charles Lee Ray wins by unanimous decision! A relieved looking Charles Lee Ray thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
