Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Epo Nurminen (ranked 2895 p4p, 3108 weight class) and Larry LeFell (ranked 294 p4p, 316 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Epo Nurminen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Larry LeFell! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, David Hoff and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A solid body kick from Nurminen. LeFell takes a shot to the body in his stride.
LeFell takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Nurminen tries to keep at a distance but LeFell has taken the fight into the clinch. LeFell tightens his grip and picks Nurminen up, before dumping him to the ground. Nurminen manages to land in guard. Nurminen wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and LeFell is now in half guard. LeFell missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Nurminen trying to control from the bottom.
LeFell passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Nurminen! LeFell controlling the pace for now. This has been an exciting period of action! Nurminen is working to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. LeFell goes for an armbar but Nurminen turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Nurminen. Nurminen trying to control but LeFell is working from the bottom. Nurminen in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. LeFell manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Nurminen manages to get himself to full guard.
LeFell tries to free his leg and advance position but Nurminen is retaining full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. LeFell is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Nurminen looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but LeFell puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. LeFell slows the pace down in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are battling for position here. Nurminen manages to regain full guard. Nice work. LeFell looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Nurminen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. LeFell controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Nurminen looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. LeFell wants to pass the guard but Nurminen is keeping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. LeFell controls the pace of the fight for a moment. LeFell passes easily into side control. Nice work. LeFell is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Nurminen has escaped the position, nice work there. Nurminen is looking for a sweep. LeFell goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Nurminen rolls with the submission and now he's on top in LeFell's guard! Nice work there by Nurminen!
That's four minutes gone in the round. LeFell wants to sweep here but Nurminen controlling him for the moment. LeFell is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Nurminen trying to control but LeFell is working from the bottom. LeFell controlling the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nurminen looking to pass the guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Larry LeFell dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Nurminen buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
LeFell has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Nurminen. LeFell takes the fight into the clinch. Nurminen misses with a body punch.
LeFell gets a trip takedown into half guard. Nurminen has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but LeFell is on him like a limpet, forcing Nurminen back against the cage. Nurminen trying to stall but LeFell improves his position.
Nurminen taking a breather. Nurminen fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nurminen lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. LeFell has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Nurminen is trying to keep an underhook but LeFell manages to get the takedown into half guard. LeFell is trying to work for a kimura but Nurminen is defending well.
LeFell is thwarting Nurminen's attempts to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. LeFell controlling the action here. LeFell is looking to pass Nurminen's guard but actually Nurminen recovers to full guard. LeFell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nurminen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. LeFell slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. LeFell pushing down on Nurminen's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nurminen wants to get back to full guard. LeFell is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. LeFell performing his best blanket impression for a moment. LeFell's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. LeFell looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. LeFell trying to control from Nurminen's half guard. Nurminen has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. LeFell working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. LeFell sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Larry LeFell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nurminen scores with a leg kick.
LeFell closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nurminen to the mat! Nurminen manages to get full guard. LeFell postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Nurminen being controlled here, momentarily. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. LeFell preventing the sweep. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Larry LeFell will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round! Good leg kick by Nurminen. Nurminen scores with a nice head shot. LeFell slips under a jab from Nurminen. LeFell takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Nurminen lands an overhand right. LeFell closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. LeFell has clasped his hands together around Nurminen's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. LeFell is trying to get an arm triangle but Nurminen is defending well. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. LeFell is staying tight to Nurminen's torso, preventing him from escaping. Nurminen tries to improve position but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. LeFell advances to full mount. LeFell wants to finish this one by submission but Nurminen is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from LeFell. LeFell has hold of Nurminen's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Nurminen manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
LeFell punching from mount but Nurminen doing a good job of avoiding damage. LeFell controlling the position easily from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. LeFell trying to control but Nurminen is having none of it. Nurminen manages to regain half guard. Good work. Epo Nurminen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Still in half guard, LeFell seems content to control. Nurminen is looking for a sweep. LeFell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. LeFell wants to pass the guard but Nurminen is defending well. Nurminen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. LeFell content to control rather than advance. Nurminen regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from LeFell. Larry LeFell is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. LeFell is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. A kick lands to the mid section there for Nurminen. A low kick lands for Nurminen.
Nurminen motions for LeFell to come forward. Nurminen throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. LeFell throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nurminen was covering up waiting for the punch and LeFell finishes the takedown easily into guard. LeFell looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. LeFell tries to free his leg and advance position but Nurminen is retaining full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Larry LeFell. I've got LeFell winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
