HC GRAP 10 PBP Commentary |
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 16 wins and 14 losses; Elazar Shalit! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; African King! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. King tries to clinch there but Shalit circles away.
King has closed the distance and engaged Shalit in a clinch.
Shalit tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. King smiles and moves away.

King tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Shalit just stands there and leans against the cage. King has Shalit pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. King pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Shalit tumbling to the mat - King dives into Shalit's guard. Shalit eventually gives up the hold. King wants to control but Shalit is keeping busy.

Shalit takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Shalit looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. King felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Shalit is sneakily working for an arm triangle but King sees it coming and defends easily. Shalit is looking to take a break and control but King is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! King tries to free his leg and advance position but Shalit is retaining full guard.
