Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Danny Hoover (ranked 2502 p4p, 3342 weight class) and Richard James (ranked 265 p4p, 345 weight class). Danny Hoover has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Danny Hoover! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Richard James! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hoover on his heels. He'll look to pass Hoover's guard now, I'm sure. James won't allow Hoover to get back to his feet. James trying to control the position from guard on top but Hoover is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. James is looking to advance position but Hoover has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! James tries to hold on but Hoover postures up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. James is working to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. James is wriggling around trying to escape.
James has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Hoover wants to stand but James is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
The referee warns James that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round. James is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
James tries to hold on but Hoover postures up. Hoover wants to control the pace but James is squirming around nicely. James tries to hold on but Hoover pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoover get's back to his feet. James misses with an uppercut. Hoover misses with a wild body shot. Hoover looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. A big right from James misses. James fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hoover manages to avoid it. Hoover attempts a counter takedown but James avoids it well and moves away. A clash of legs there as James blocks the low kick. James avoids a kick to the body.
Hoover clinches up with James and pushes him back against the cage. Hoover tries to break the clinch but James is controlling the position. Hoover manages to break the clinch.
Hoover throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
James shoots in but no luck this time. Hoover swats away the attempt to clinch by James. James takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
That's four minutes gone in the round. It's a brutal combination of punches from Hoover! James is backing up but he can't get away as Hoover lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops James and ends the fight. Great knockout.
