Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ric Tiger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dimitris Maltezos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Tiger might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Eye of the tiger. Dimitris Maltezos has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ric Tiger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dimitris Maltezos!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tiger circles away from the clinch attempt.
Tiger keeps the fight on the outside.
Tiger is looking to slow Maltezos down with leg kicks.
Tiger throws a head kick that misses.
Tiger misses with a leg kick.
Maltezos misses with a takedown attempt - Tiger sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Tiger fails to land the takedown.
Tiger circles away from the clinch attempt.

Tiger closes the distance and pushes Maltezos back into the cage.
Maltezos stops a takedown attempt from Tiger.

Tiger breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Maltezos doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Tiger counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Tiger wants to control from the top but Maltezos keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maltezos is trying to control the position but Tiger postures up.

Maltezos looking for a sweep. Not yet Maltezos, not yet.

Tiger gets to his feet - Maltezos follows without any prompting.
Maltezos lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Maltezos closes the distance but Tiger moves to the side

and Tiger holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Maltezos tries to circle away but Tiger has him pinned against the cage.

Tiger breaks the clinch.
Maltezos clinches but Tiger breaks the clinch

and Tiger holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Maltezos wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Tiger is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Maltezos can't fight it off and eventually Tiger manages to take the fight to the floor. Maltezos looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Maltezos wants to sweep here but Tiger controlling him for the moment.

Tiger gets to his feet - Maltezos follows without any prompting.

Maltezos wants to clinch but Tiger slips to the side

and Tiger counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Tiger.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tiger trying to control the position from guard on top but Maltezos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Maltezos utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Tiger trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Maltezos is working an open guard so Tiger takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Tiger has taken the fight to the clinch.

Maltezos is trying to break the clinch but Tiger has him pressed against the cage.

Tiger's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Maltezos gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Tiger has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Maltezos controls Tiger momentarily but Tiger frees himself.

Tiger decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Maltezos, up you get!
Tiger is breathing heavily.
Maltezos swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Tiger counters with a nice double leg into side control. Maltezos won't be happy with that.

Tiger stands up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tiger.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ric Tiger. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Maltezos tries to clinch up

and Tiger counters by moving into the clinch.
Tiger goes for a takedown attempt but Maltezos pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Maltezos tries to grapple but his opponent circles

Tiger fails to pull guard.
Tiger tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Tiger's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Maltezos tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Tiger counters with an outside leg kick.
Maltezos throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Tiger counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tiger jumps guard but Maltezos stands there with Tiger around his waist. Tiger gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Maltezos is trying to force a seperation but Tiger has the dominant position.
Tiger fails to pull the fight into his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ric Tiger dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Maltezos closes the distance but Tiger moves to the side
and Tiger makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Dimitris Maltezos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tiger throws a front kick aimed at Maltezos's knee but Maltezos avoids it well.

Tiger closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Tiger drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Maltezos wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Tiger manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Tiger pulls Maltezos in close to prevent any damage.

Tiger has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Maltezos off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Tiger throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Tiger shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Maltezos is trying to defend but Tiger finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Tiger lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Maltezos is desperately trying to improve his position but Tiger has a good base and remains in mount.

Ric Tiger overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

and Tiger counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Tiger decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Maltezos looks to land a combination but Tiger avoids it well.
Maltezos throws a right and a left that both miss.

Tiger moves into the clinch successfully.

Tiger's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ric Tiger is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Tiger counters with a good low kick that Maltezos was not able to check.
Tiger lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Tiger shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Tiger was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Tiger can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Maltezos is looking to escape.

Tiger looking to isolate an arm here. Maltezos doesn't see it coming and as Tiger extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Tiger!
