PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Simon Soap (ranked 1420 p4p, 1408 weight class) and Rodney Wolford (ranked 188 p4p, 187 weight class). Soap comes to the cage accompanied by Clean Up - Barney The Purple Dinosaur. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wolford drives through with a takedown into guard.
Soap utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Wolford landing with the ground and pound.
Soap is pulling down on Wolford's head. It's preventing any offense from Wolford, at least for the moment.
Wolford trying to control the position from guard on top but Soap is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Rodney Wolford has been cut.
Wolford tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Soap defends well and Wolford ends up having to push Soap into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Simon Soap has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rodney Wolford.
