Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Thompson (ranked 2622 p4p, 3565 weight class) and Claudio Castagnoli (ranked 147 p4p, 218 weight class). Thompson comes into the arena with Redneck Summer - Ben Hudson blaring out of the sound system. Castagnoli has chosen James Bond Theme as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Claudio Castagnoli!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Castagnoli punishes Thompson's body with a nice straight punch.
Thompson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Castagnoli counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

We've been informed that Castagnoli has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Thompson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Castagnoli is trying to defend but Thompson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
