The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, David Hoff and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simons bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Parks tries to improve position but can't.
Simons looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
An elbow from Simons crashes against the mat.
Parks sneaks back into half guard.
Simons is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Parks has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Simons. Oh but Parks has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Simons goes limp - he's gone! Parks jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
