Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Aiden Pearce (ranked 4108 p4p, 3662 weight class) and Hotsi Log (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aiden Pearce! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hotsi Log! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Log tries to keep at a distance but Pearce has taken the fight into the clinch. Log looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Pearce avoids a wild elbow strike from Log. Pearce is working for takedown but Log is calmly controlling the position for now. Log creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Pearce's defenses. Log pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Pearce wants to get back to striking at distance but Log won't allow it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pearce is trying to pull guard but Log turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. That's four minutes gone in the round. Horrible takedown attempt by Pearce or perhaps it was just good defense by Log, which made it look bad. Pearce closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Pearce not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Pearce is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pearce trying to control from half guard but Log is working away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Hotsi Log dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Pearce shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Log manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Pearce lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Pearce content to control rather than advance. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Pearce has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Pearce in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Log tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Pearce!
