Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matthew Summers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Anthony Ellison!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ellison shoots in and bounces Summers off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Summers working for a triangle but Ellison defends it easily.
Ellison stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Summers swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Summers thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Ellison gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Ellison closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Summers to the mat! Summers manages to get full guard.
Summers looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ellison trying to control but Summers is working from the bottom.
Ellison is in close to Summers's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Summers is trying to control the position but Ellison postures up.
Summers manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ellison manages to get himself to full guard.
Ellison looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ellison is looking to sinch up a triangle. Summers throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Ellison's body to avoid the submission. Ellison has instead reached around Summers's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Ellison arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Anthony Ellison!
