And in the blue corner, fighting out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 1 losses; Black Marlin!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.

Marlin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Takemura throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Marlin escapes and throws Takemura's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Marlin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Takemura. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Let's hope that Marlin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Marlin takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Marlin in particular looking to stall.

Takemura has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Marlin is working away from the top position though.

Marlin is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Marlin has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Takemura is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Marlin.

Marlin wants to get back to full guard but Takemura has mounted him!
