Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Walter Payton (ranked 1145 p4p, 871 weight class) and Tom Tomson (ranked 147 p4p, 115 weight class). Payton comes to the cage accompanied by Andre Nickatina - Yeah. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 25 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Walter Payton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Tomson! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from Payton. Tomson does a little dance to reset his feet. A chopping leg kick lands by Tomson. Payton fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tomson manages to avoid it. Despite the aggression on Tomson's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Tomson gets tackled into the cage by Payton. Payton maintains the clinch. Tomson tries to break the clinch but Payton is controlling the position. Payton tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Tomson's elbow. Tomson is trying to force a seperation but Payton has the dominant position. A head punch blocked on the inside by Tomson. Tomson blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tomson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Payton wants to clinch up but Tomson keeps it at a distance. Tomson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Tomson avoids the body shot from Payton.
Nice shot lands for Payton.
It looks like Tom Tomson has been cut. Payton closes the distance and clinches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tomson manages to break the clinch.
Payton misses with a jab, cross combination.
Tomson counters with a body kick. Tomson moves out of range of the strikes. Payton connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Tomson momentarily.
Payton drops Tomson with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Tomson! Payton dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Walter Payton! Walter Payton decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
