Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mitsugi Kitahachi (ranked 5772 p4p, 3976 weight class) and Imai Cosmo (ranked 455 p4p, 0 weight class). Kitahachi comes to the cage accompanied by Fly-day Chinatown. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mitsugi Kitahachi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Imai Cosmo! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cosmo clinches up against the cage. Cosmo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kitahachi just stands there and leans against the cage. Cosmo manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Kitahachi gets to his feet - Cosmo follows without any prompting. The fighters circle momentarily. Kitahachi darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Kitahachi lands a nice hook to Cosmo's body. Cosmo takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Cosmo misses with a takedown attempt - Kitahachi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Kitahachi dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Cosmo shoots for a double leg takedown but Kitahachi sprawls well. He's pushed Cosmo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Mitsugi Kitahachi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Imai Cosmo. Cosmo takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Kitahachi lands a big right hand that sends Cosmo crashing to the mat! Kitahachi stays standing though and waves Cosmo back to his feet!
Cosmo is rocked! Cosmo looks winded! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cosmo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cosmo is still on wobbly legs! Can Kitahachi finish him? Mitsugi Kitahachi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cosmo moves in looking to clinch but Kitahachi pushes him off. Cosmo seems to have recovered his senses. Cosmo doesn't succeed with the takedown and Kitahachi counters with a crisp right hand that drops Cosmo! Kitahachi lets Cosmo back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
That's one minute gone in the round. Cosmo fails to land the takedown. Kitahachi connects with a body shot that sends Cosmo's belly button to the back. Kitahachi cracks Cosmo with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Kitahachi has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Cosmo to stand back up! Cosmo switches off momentarily and Kitahachi cracks him with a monster right hand! Cosmo topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Kitahachi dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Kitahachi!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mitsugi Kitahachi!
