Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Newton (ranked 4101 p4p, 4012 weight class) and Jaxson Dreznog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ricky Newton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jaxson Dreznog! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Donald Grub and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dreznog has closed the distance and engaged Newton in a clinch.
Dreznog can't get the takedown.
Dreznog's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Dreznog throws a head kick but Newton moves out of range.

Dreznog closes the distance and clinches. Newton tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Dreznog turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Dreznog manages to end up in side control. You can see the frustration on Newton's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Newton is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Dreznog tries to stand but can't do so whilst Newton controls his leg. Newton has his hands clasped together around Dreznog's back. He's all about the action.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dreznog is pressing down on Newton's thigh, looking to free his foot. Newton is holding on for now. Newton slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Dreznog trying to control but Newton is working from the bottom. Dreznog stands up and waves to Newton to follow him. Newton throws a sloppy head kick and Dreznog moves out of range easily. Dreznog closes the distance and pushes Newton back into the cage. Newton is looking to take this one to the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dreznog is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Newton gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Dreznog manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Dreznog throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Dreznog keeping full guard, as Newton tries to pass. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dreznog not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Newton content to stall in guard here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dreznog can't keep his opponent in guard - Newton advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Newton slows the pace down in half guard. Dreznog really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Newton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Dreznog tries to roll over but Newton keeps him under control. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Dreznog is refusing to be controlled, as Newton sits in half guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Dreznog closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Newton to the mat! Newton manages to get full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Newton looking for a guillotine here but Dreznog defends easily.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jaxson Dreznog dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Newton drives through with a takedown into guard. Dreznog pushes Newton off and gets back to his feet.
Newton tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Dreznog is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Newton shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Dreznog scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Newton manages to mount him!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Newton prevents Dreznog from getting the reversal. Newton connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

That's one minute gone in the round. Newton scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Dreznog?

Dreznog tries to buck Newton off but Newton takes his back! Newton lands with a hammerfist to the side of Dreznog's head. Dreznog is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Dreznog tries to escape the position.
Newton is working for a rear naked choke. Dreznog is not defending it well and Newton has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Dreznog refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Dreznog's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ricky Newton!
