Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bacardi Briggs (ranked 2823 p4p, 2681 weight class) and Lawson Serrano (ranked 294 p4p, 287 weight class). Briggs comes to the cage accompanied by The Stopper by Cutty Ranks. Bacardi Briggs had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bacardi Briggs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lawson Serrano! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Winston Alpacca and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Serrano fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Briggs swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Briggs throws a body punch but Serrano moves out of range. Briggs listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
It looks like Lawson Serrano has been cut. Serrano ducks under a wild hook from Briggs. Serrano feints and as Briggs raises his hands in defense, Serrano changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Serrano in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Serrano content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Serrano lands a couple of digs. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Serrano accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Briggs can't keep his opponent in guard - Serrano advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Serrano drops an elbow to the side of Briggs's head. Serrano thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Briggs's head. Serrano throwing shots but Briggs is blocking nicely. Briggs definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Serrano looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Briggs with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Serrano not landing any meaningful shots this time.

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Briggs tries to get out of the position. Serrano lands with a punch from half guard. Serrano seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Briggs does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Bacardi Briggs has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! A short right from Briggs. Serrano pulls Briggs into guard.
Briggs tries to stand but Serrano is controlling from the bottom. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Serrano is on top in guard.

He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Serrano working over Briggs with some ground and pound. Briggs looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Briggs is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Serrano scores with a couple of nice shots. Serrano wants to lay and pray for a moment but Briggs keeps working. Serrano passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Briggs!

It looks like Bacardi Briggs has been cut. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Serrano lands a big shot to the head and Briggs winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
