Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gao Chao (ranked 5836 p4p, 24766 weight class) and Ender Knightley (ranked 509 p4p, 535 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gao Chao!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ender Knightley!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knightley tries to close the distance and clinch up but Chao swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Chao is looking for a counter combo.
Knightley scores with a nice strike.
Chao shoots in but Knightley avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Knightley moves into the clinch.
Chao blocking some punches.
Knightley misses with the head strike.
Chao tries for a takedown but Knightley manages to get underhooks.

Knightley breaks the clinch.

Chao closes the distance and pushes Knightley back into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Knightley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Knightley lands a nice shot that snaps Chao's head back.
Knightley misses with a wild body shot.
Chao tries to clinch up.

A right-left combo lands from Knightley.

It looks like Gao Chao has been cut.
Nice uppercut there from Knightley.
Knightley throws a shot to the body.
Knightley lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Chao gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Knightley counters with a slapping leg kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gao Chao. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Knightley misses with a body shot.

Ender Knightley is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Knightley tests Chao's chin there with a solid looking shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Chao crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Knightley - the referee stops the clock and Chao gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Knightley. Chao manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Knightley throws a nice looking combination but Chao bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Knightley misses with a series of wild punches.

Knightley has taken the fight to the clinch.
Knightley cracks Chao with a nice body shot.
Knightley prevents the takedown attempt.
Chao is trying to force a seperation but Knightley has the dominant position.
Knightley makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Knightley is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Chao drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Knightley gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Knightley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Knightley lands with a shot to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Knightley stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Knightley wants it to stay on the feet.
And Knightley responds with a good body kick, but Chao manages to step out the way in time.
Knightley lands a jab to the head.
Chao tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Knightley swivels and escapes.
Knightley falls off balance throwing a combination

and Chao counters by clinching up.

Chao turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Chao manages to end up in side control.

Knightley throws Chao to one side and escapes!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Knightley lands with a thumping leg kick.
Chao fails to land the takedown.

Knightley instigates a clinch.
Chao tries for a takedown but Knightley manages to get underhooks.

Knightley manages to break the clinch.
Knightley has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Chao is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Ender Knightley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Chao fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Knightley avoids it really well and circles away.
Knightley defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Chao.
Chao takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Chao shoots for a double leg takedown but Knightley sprawls well. He's pushed Chao's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Knightley looks to land a combination. Chao sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Chao's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Knightley connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Chao scrambles back to his feet.

Knightley gets a clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for Knightley.
Chao is trying to break the clinch but Knightley is controlling him.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Chao.
Knightley lands a body shot in the clinch.
Knightley lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ender Knightley dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Gao Chao's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Knightley lands an overhand right.
Nice shot by Knightley.
Knightley misses with a jab, cross combination.
Chao misses with a series of wild punches.
Knightley unleashes a big counter combination but Chao bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Ender Knightley seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Chao moves in looking to clinch but Knightley pushes him off.
Knightley misses with a series of wild punches.
We've been told by Chao's head coaches at Mighty MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Knightley goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Gao Chao's cut is getting worse.

Knightley rushes Chao and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Knightley working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Knightley has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Chao's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Knightley breaks the clinch.
Knightley has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Chao tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Knightley feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Chaos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Knightley clinches up with Chao and pushes him back against the cage.
Knightley prevents the takedown attempt.
A head punch on the inside from Knightley fails to land.

Chao gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Knightley manages to escape and get back to his feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Chao shoots for a takedown but Knightley saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Chao has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Knightley is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Knightley's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Knightley moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Chao tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Chao fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Knightley avoids it really well and circles away.
Knightley is throwing punches like he's double parked. Oh my word! Huge right hand from Knightley shuts the power down on Chao. Lights out, game over! Knightley is your winner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ender Knightley!
A very excited looking Ender Knightley made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
