And in the blue corner, fighting out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 8 losses; Nate Pawn! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Pawn swats away the attempt to clinch by Fontaine. Pawn gets in close and instigates a clinch. Pawn jumps into guard, dragging Fontaine to the mat.
Fontaine sitting in guard here, content to control. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pawn is trying to control the position but Fontaine postures up. Fontaine engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Pawn is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Pawn can't keep his opponent in guard - Fontaine advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Pawn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fontaine. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Fontaine looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Fontaine is taking a breather. Pawn says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Fontaine seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pawn for as long as he can get away with.

Pawn is staying active underneath Fontaine, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Pawn moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Fontaine wants to control from the top but Pawn keeps moving.

Fontaine jumps back into Pawn's guard. Pawn tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Pawn controls Fontaine momentarily but Fontaine frees himself. Pawn keeping moving, preventing Fontaine from controlling successfully. Fontaine drops back, looking for a kneebar! Pawn looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Pawn looks to have wriggled free... Fontaine is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Pawn with him. Pawn is trying to defend but Fontaine has an arm under the chin now! Pawn grimaces and is forced to tap out!
