This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the light heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 2 losses; Kenji Matsuda! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 2 losses; Jacek Siuta!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.


Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious?
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Siuta tries to clinch there but Matsuda circles away.
Siuta tries to close the distance and clinch but Matsuda swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Matsuda got a little sloppy there for a moment and Siuta has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Matsuda has managed to get both his arms back between Siuta's legs - danger averted.

Siuta is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Matsuda doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Siuta.

Siuta is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Matsuda still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Matsuda has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
