Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cactus Jack (ranked 2319 p4p, 2051 weight class) and Floyd Gayweather (ranked 251 p4p, 229 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Floyd Gayweather was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Cactus Jack! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Floyd Gayweather! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gayweather circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jack closes the distance and lands a one-two. Gayweather swats away the attempt to clinch by Jack. Jack gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Jack instigates a clinch. Jack is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Gayweather pulls him back up using the underhooks. Jack can't get the takedown.
Jack is looking to take this one to the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cactus Jack. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jack has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Gayweather avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Jack wants a takedown.

Jack moves into the clinch. Gayweather breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jack swings for the body but Gayweather moves out of range.
Gayweather tries to bum rush Jack with a series of wild strikes but Jack uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Jack seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Gayweather tries to work over Jack's front leg with a kick but Jack checks it. Jack shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gayweather sprawls well. Gayweather wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jack gets slowly back to his feet. Jack tries to close the distance and clinch but Gayweather swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A little jabbing left from Gayweather on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Jack fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jack takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Jack throws a series of punches but Gayweather avoids them all with ease. Gayweather gets caught flat footed, as Jack shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Gayweather is pulling down on Jack's head. It's preventing any offense from Jack, at least for the moment. Gayweather told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Jack trying to control the position from guard on top but Gayweather is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jack prevents Gayweather from getting back to his feet. Gayweather has momentary wrist control but Jack slips an elbow through the middle. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jack is looking to pass into half guard but Gayweather pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Gayweather is in guard. Jack controls Gayweather momentarily but Gayweather frees himself. Gayweather slips nicely into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Jack is trying to stand up here but Gayweather is controlling him well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gayweather decides to stand and escape the position. Jack tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gayweather manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Jack needs to keep his hands up - Gayweather had a free shot at his head there. Cactus Jack seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A low kick from Jack misses and Gayweather counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Jack with a hook. Gayweather ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Jack throws a leg kick and Gayweather counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. A punch combination from Jack misses. Jack backing away here, and Gayweather unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Gayweather tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. As Gayweather tries to get set, Jack tries to push him back and clinch up but Gayweather manages to avoid the attempt. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jack is defended easily by Gayweather. Gayweather misses with a jab, cross combination.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Gayweather paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Jack shoots in for a takedown but Gayweather shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Gayweather lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Jack shoots in and drives through. Gayweather sprawls well. Jack shoots for a double leg takedown but Gayweather sprawls well. He's pushed Jack's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Jack misses with a double jab.
Jack throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Gayweather throws a sloppy head kick and Jack moves out of range easily. Jack fails with an attempt to clinch.

Jack tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gayweather manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Gayweather was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Floyd Gayweather is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Gayweather lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Jack looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Jack throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Gayweather to regain full guard. Gayweather keeping moving, preventing Jack from controlling successfully. Jack postures up and lands a big shot to Gayweather's brow. Jack content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Jack has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Gayweather wants to sweep here but Jack controlling him for the moment. Gayweather keeping moving, preventing Jack from controlling successfully. Jack prevents Gayweather from getting back to his feet. Gayweather working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jack.
That's six minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Gayweather wants to stand but Jack is controlling the position. Gayweather preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Gayweather has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Jack is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Gayweather prevents the takedown attempt.
Jack is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Gayweather is defending well. Jack goes for a takedown in the clinch but Gayweather prevents it.

Gayweather stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gayweather wants it to stay on the feet. Gayweather displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jack. Jack is breathing heavily.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Gayweather tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Gayweather lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Gayweather scores with a punch to the head. Jack looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Jack throws a sloppy head kick and Gayweather moves out of range easily. Gayweather lands with an overhand left. Gayweather throws a hook but Jack blocks it. Gayweather misses with a series of wild punches.

Jack shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Gayweather counters with a stiff right hand. Jack fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's eight minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jack drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gayweather pulls his leg out and moves away.
Jack shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gayweather defends it nicely. Jack fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Gayweather checks it well. Gayweather dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Some wild striking there from Gayweather.

Jack throws a big counter combination but Gayweather scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. A shot to the body from Jack misses and Gayweather counters with a one-two to the body. A bone on bone clash there as Jack blocks the leg kick.

That's nine minutes gone in the round. Jack moves into the clinch. Gayweather breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Jack doesn't succeed with the takedown and Jack takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Jack gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Gayweather connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Jack doesn't manage to clinch there - Gayweather circles away.

Floyd Gayweather dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Jack fails to land the takedown. Gayweather only half commits to the counter leg kick. Jack throws a lazy uppercut
and Gayweather counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Jack closes the distance and clinches. Jack tries to score a body lock takedown but Gayweather shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Jack has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Gayweather is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cactus Jack. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gayweather breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Gayweather lands with a hook. Jack tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Gayweather takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Jack tries for a takedown but Gayweather sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jack gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Jack misses with a straight right. Gayweather keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jack shoots in and drives through. Gayweather sprawls well. A little jabbing left from Gayweather on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Gayweather slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Gayweather has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Jack tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gayweather sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jack somewhat. Gayweather throws a fast counter high kick but Jack manages to duck under it in time. Gayweather throws a leg kick that misses. A jab from Gayweather finds it's way through Jack's defenses. Jack slips a jab and a cross from Gayweather.
Gayweather misses with a looping left. Jack throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gayweather's waist but Gayweather gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jack off to one side. Jack is looking to clinch but Gayweather is avoiding it.
Jack fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Gayweather drops Jack with a left right combo! Gayweather follows him down to the ground into side control.
Jack is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gayweather stands up and we're back to a striking position. Oh Jack is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jack leaves his chin hanging out and Gayweather seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Jack crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Floyd Gayweather!
