The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gurnisson throws a jab but it's blocked by Horiguchi.
As Gurnisson looks to move away, Horiguchi throws a big counter combo but Gurnisson just gets out of the way.
Horiguchi has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad MMA Tokyo in the buildup to the fight.

Gurnisson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Horiguchi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Gurnisson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Horiguchi seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

and Horiguchi counters with a three punch combo that has Gurnisson backing up. Gurnisson nods at Horiguchi to acknowledge the strikes.
Horiguchi throws a right and a left that Gurnisson avoids nicely.

Gurnisson is fighting off a takedown attempt but Horiguchi is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Gurnisson to the mat. Gurnisson regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
