The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schultz's corner calls for a 1-2. Schultz obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Machida moves into the clinch successfully.
Schultz struggles to land a body shot inside as Machida controls his hands.
Machida pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Schultz throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Machida.
Schultz misses with a wild body shot.
Schultz scores with a nice strike.
Machida blocks a low kick nicely.
Machida is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Schultz looks to throw the jab but Machida is out of range.
Dutch Schultz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Schultz throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Machida counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Schultz wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

and Machida counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Machida works Schultz's body with a nice hook.
Machida avoids a punch combination nicely.

Schultz goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
It looks like Chinza Machida has been cut.

Machida throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Schultz looks winded!
Schultz takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Schultz rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Machida counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Machida drops a shoulder and throws a biiiig uppercut that drops Schultz onto his butt! Schultz pops straight back to his feet to convince the referee that he's OK to continue.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Schultz on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Machida. Machida obviously looking to wear him down.
Schultz misses with a hook.
Machida scores with a jab to the body.
Schultz drops his guard momentarily, allowing Machida to crack him with a picture perfect lead left hook! Boom! Down goes Schultz! Oh, he's in big trouble - I don't like his chances here as the referee's count reaches 5. 6,7,8,9...10! He's out! Machida takes it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Chinza Machida!
