Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joe Pro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kratos Lancaster!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pro scores a takedown into full mount!
Pro can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lancaster is looking to escape.
Lancaster wants to get back to his feet.
Lancaster is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Lancaster prevents Pro from taking his back.
Pro trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Pro controlling the pace for now.
Lancaster is trying to stand up.

Pro wants to control the pace but Lancaster is squirming around nicely.
You get the feeling that Lancaster really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Pro jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Lancaster manages to avoid the submission attempt.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Pro closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Pro jumps guard and drags Lancaster to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Pro looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lancaster is one step ahead there.
Lancaster prevents Pro from getting back to his feet.
Pro is breathing heavily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Lancaster stands up and waves to Pro to follow him.
Lancaster tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Pro counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Pro pressing his opponent against the cage.
Lancaster wants a takedown.

Pro gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Pro is just content to waste time from the top position. Lancaster takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Lancaster wants to get back to his feet but Pro is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Pro not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Pro trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Pro has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Lancaster is looking to stand up but Pro isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Pro is in close to Lancaster's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Lancaster pushes Pro off and scrambles back to his feet.

Pro clinches with his opponent.

Pro's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kratos Lancaster seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lancaster feints and as Pro raises his hands in defense, Lancaster changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lancaster is looking to stand up but Pro won't let him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Pro dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Lancaster moves out of range of the body kick.

Pro has closed the distance and engaged Lancaster in a clinch.

Pro breaks the clinch.
Pro misses with a head kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from Lancaster.
Lancaster tries to clinch up

and Pro counters by moving into the clinch.
Lancaster is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Pro prevents Lancaster from breaking the clinch.

Pro is trying to trip Lancaster. He has hold of a leg but Lancaster is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Pro persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Lancaster is looking to stand up but Pro isn't so interested in that idea.

Pro stands and steps away. Lancaster gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lancaster tries to clinch but Pro moves away

and Pro counters with a takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pro is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lancaster has escaped the position, nice work there.
Pro prevents Lancaster from escaping the position.
Pro trying to control the position but Lancaster is working away.
Lancaster wants to get back to his feet but Pro drags him back down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pro controls the position.
Pro tries to advance to mount but Lancaster denies him.

Lancaster is trying to buck Pro off.

and Pro counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lancaster won't be happy with that.
Lancaster is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Pro is controlling him well.
Lancaster tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Lancaster wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Pro takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lancaster is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Pro is landing with some decent strikes but Lancaster is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Lancaster really wants to buck Pro off and get back to his feet.
Joe Pro overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Pro controlling the position easily from mount.
Pro wants to control the pace but Lancaster is squirming around nicely.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Lancaster has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Lancaster holding both Pro 's hands and preventing any damage.
Lancaster is covering up but some of the strikes from Pro are getting through and doing damage.
Lancaster is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Pro scores with punches and elbows.
Lancaster is trying to get back to his feet but Pro has full control of the position and if anything, Lancaster has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Pro. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pro moves into the clinch.

Pro tightens his grip and picks Lancaster up, before dumping him to the ground. Lancaster manages to land in guard.
Pro is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Lancaster is looking to stand up but Pro isn't so interested in that idea.
Pro wants to pass the guard but Lancaster is keeping the position.
Pro trying to control but Lancaster is working from the bottom.
Lancaster is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pro is controlling him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Lancaster darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Lancaster seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Pro tries to roll over but Lancaster keeps him under control.
Lancaster tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Pro.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lancaster is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Pro manages to get to full guard.
Lancaster is looking to stand up but Pro won't let him.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Pro dodges the punch combination from Lancaster.

Pro scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Lancaster wants to get back to his feet.
Lancaster is not content to let Pro control the position.

Pro tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Lancaster is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Pro tries to advance to mount but Lancaster denies him.
Lancaster wants to get back to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lancaster scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Pro shoots in but Lancaster avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Lancaster dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Pro. That did some damage!
A slapping leg kick lands for Lancaster.
Pro connects with a nice looking jab.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lancaster connects with a solid leg kick.
Lancaster clinches but Pro breaks the clinch

and Pro counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Pro.
Kratos Lancaster has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Joe Pro is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Lancaster throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

And that's the end of the fight!
Joe Pro showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pro, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
