The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

I was talking to Joon's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Joon swings wildly with an uppercut but Adesanya uses good head movement to avoid it.
Adesanya blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Seung Joon dominated that round.
That's time! Joon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

It seemed like Adesanya was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Joon will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Adesanya counters with a right, a left and a big uppercut that drops Joon to the mat! Adesanya runs to a neutral corner to get the count going quickly. 3,4,5,6 and Joon is back to his feet. He seems ready to continue - the ref agrees so we're back at it!

Adesanya takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Seung Joon is winning the standup battle so far.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Adesanya is looking to clinch but Joon is avoiding it.
Joon throws a right hand that Adesanya ducks under and follows up with a left that Adesanya also avoids with ease.
Joon misses with an uppercut
and Adesanya counters with a right, followed by a huge uppercut that sends Joon crashing to the mat! Joon is trying to use the ropes to get back to his feet but he's all over the place - the referee has seen enough and has stopped the fight! Adesanya screams with a mixture of joy and relief, whilst celebrating with his cornermen.
