Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Reed Sherman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Amos Jones!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Ivan Kurochkin and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sherman misses with a leg kick.

Jones is controlling an arm, preventing Sherman from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Jones tries to lock up and control but Sherman gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Sherman cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Sherman postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jones looks a forlorn figure.

Sherman pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Reed Sherman dominated that round.
That's time! Sherman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Jones throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Sherman tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range.
Sherman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Sherman looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Sherman fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jones avoids it really well and circles away.

Jones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Sherman pushes Jones off and gets back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sherman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jones.

Jones manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Sherman on his heels. He'll look to pass Sherman's guard now, I'm sure.

Jones gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Jones jumps guard and drags Sherman to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sherman lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Sherman connects with a couple of short punches.
Jones controls Sherman momentarily but Sherman frees himself.
Jones keeping moving, preventing Sherman from controlling successfully.
Sherman is in close to Jones's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Sherman advances position into side control!

Sherman stands up.
Sherman tries to clinch up but Jones circles away and keeps his distance.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Sherman.

Nice takedown defense from Sherman. No joy for Jones on that attempt.
Sherman dives in and grabs Jones's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes down on Sherman's head and hops out.

Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Sherman.
Sherman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sherman goes for a double leg but Jones avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jones continues to drive forward.
Sherman tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jones smiles and moves away.

A close second round but Amos Jones will probably get the nod - 10:9.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Sherman here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Jones tries to work over Sherman's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

I would just about give that final round to Amos Jones.
I think Jones has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
