Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between TJ Myson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malaquias Shinzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Myson comes to the cage accompanied by Welcome to the jungle. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Malaquias Shinzo! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Edson Gomes and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Shinzo. No joy for Myson on that attempt. Myson has Shinzo up against the cage in a clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, Myson throws an elbow but misses. Myson takes a shot to the head. Myson wants a takedown.
Myson wants the takedown. Shinzo is fighting it off but Myson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Shinzo's guard against the cage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Myson stops Shinzo from standing up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Myson working some strikes from top position. Myson won't allow Shinzo to get back to his feet. Myson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Myson forces his way into half guard. Myson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Myson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Shinzo wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Myson manages to pass to side control. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Myson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shinzo keeps working. Shinzo avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Myson. Shinzo pushes Myson off looking to stand but Myson dives back in and keeps control.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Myson fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for TJ Myson. That's going to take a lot out of him. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Shinzo crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Myson - the referee stops the clock and Shinzo gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Myson. Shinzo manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Myson is breathing heavily. Myson shoots in and drives through. Shinzo sprawls well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A jab from Myson misses. Myson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Myson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Myson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shinzo sprawls well initially but Myson persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Myson is keen to just control but Shinzo is a slippery customer. Myson missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Myson is keen to just control but Shinzo is a slippery customer. Myson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Shinzo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Myson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Myson in side control, throwing shots but Shinzo defends. Myson works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Shinzo wants to get back to his feet but Myson drags him back down. Myson landing strikes. Shinzo takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Myson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Myson gets the takedown into side control. Myson is staying tight to Shinzo's torso, preventing him from escaping. Myson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Shinzo to his feet. Myson is looking to clinch. Myson instigates a clinch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Shinzo prevents the takedown attempt.
Shinzo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Myson misses with a body kick. Myson looks for a takedown but Shinzo sprawls well.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Shinzo looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Nice sprawl there from Shinzo as Myson shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for TJ Myson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shinzo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Myson closes the distance and clinches up with Shinzo, looking for a takedown. Myson pushes Shinzo against the cage but Shinzo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Myson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shinzo circles away. Shinzo throws a head kick that half lands.
It looks like TJ Myson has been cut. Myson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shinzo as he avoids it easily. A solid body kick from Shinzo.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shinzo tries to clinch up. Shinzo lands a front kick. Shinzo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Myson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Myson throws a looping overhand right but Shinzo ducks down to avoid it. Shinzo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Shinzo changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Shinzo clinches but Myson breaks the clinch and Myson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shinzo tries to kick Myson off but Myson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Myson controlling the pace. Myson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

TJ Myson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Myson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Shinzo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Shinzo pushes Myson off looking to stand but Myson dives back in and keeps control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Myson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Myson doesn't manage to clinch there - Shinzo circles away.

Shinzo is fighting the takedown attempt but Myson gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Shinzo working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Myson. Myson trying to control the position from guard on top but Shinzo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shinzo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. A lazy body kick from Myson and Shinzo counters with a leg kick. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Myson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shinzo tries to avoid it but Myson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shinzo to the ground. Shinzo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for TJ Myson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shinzo moves in looking to clinch but Myson pushes him off. Myson tries to close the distance and clinch but Shinzo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Nice takedown defense from Shinzo. No joy for Myson on that attempt. Myson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Shinzo wants to clinch up but Myson keeps it at a distance. Myson throws a big right hand that misses. Shinzo is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Myson dives into side control.
Myson content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Shinzo wants to get back to his feet but Myson drags him back down. Shinzo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Myson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Myson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Myson stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Shinzo to get to his feet. Myson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shinzo circles away. Myson fails with a takedown attempt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Myson. Shinzo tries to clinch but Myson is having none of it. Malaquias Shinzo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! TJ Myson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Shinzo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to TJ Myson. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Myson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
