Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Damian Son (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takihashi Ono (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Son's entrance music is Stranglehold. A fine choice. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Damian Son! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Takihashi Ono! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ono tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Son swivels and escapes. Son doesn't succeed with the takedown and Ono decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Son's guard. Ono postures up and lands a big shot to Son's brow. Son had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Ono is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Son Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Ono's back instead. Son doesn't have the hooks in and Ono manages to turn into his guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Son keeping moving, preventing Ono from controlling successfully. Son is looking for a triangle but Ono pushes his legs off easily.
Ono is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Son looking for a sweep. Not yet Son, not yet. Ono lands a couple of elbows. Ono trying to control but Son is working from the bottom. Son looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Son looking for a guillotine here but Ono defends easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Son is looking for a triangle here but Ono uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Son is breathing heavily. Ono moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. I looks like Ono might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Ono tries to move into full mount but can't pass Son's legs. Son tries to improve position but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Ono is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Ono is looking to take a break and control but Son is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Ono misses with a takedown attempt and Son counters with a shoot takedown. Ono fights it but they end up in guard. Ono is pulling down on Son's head. It's preventing any offense from Son, at least for the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ono working a defensive guard here.
Ono wants to sweep but no luck. Son looking to pass the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Son won't allow Ono to sweep him here. Son stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ono swivels though and keeps the full guard. Son preventing the sweep.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Ono gets a clinch. Ono tries for a takedown. No joy.
Damian Son has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takihashi Ono. Ono jumps guard and drags Son to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Son pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ono is keeping the position for now. Son is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ono is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ono has escaped and now he's on top! Ono trying to control the position from guard on top but Son is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ono gets to his feet - Son follows without any prompting. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Takihashi Ono dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Son shoots and misses and Ono counters with a shoot takedown. Son fights it but they end up in guard. Ono wants to control from the top but Son keeps moving. Ono slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Son tries to improve position but can't. Son is not content to let Ono control the position. Son tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ono wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Ono has knee on belly and moves into mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ono takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Despite being in the dominant position, Takihashi Ono just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nice takedown defense from Son. No joy for Ono on that attempt. Son fails with the takedown and Ono counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Ono decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Son, up you get!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Son has his takedown stuffed and Ono counters with a single leg into guard. Son didn't expect that. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Damian Son. That's going to take a lot out of him. Son working for a triangle but Ono defends it easily.

Ono tries for a takedown but Son circles away easily and Son counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Son drops back looking for a leg! Ono is in trouble here! That's four minutes gone in the round. Son is positioning himself to get back to half guard. You can see the frustration on Son's face as Ono controls the position. Ono tries for a kimura but Son is defending well. Ono wants to control but Son is keeping him busy. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Son tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ono wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Son manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Son tries for a takedown but Ono circles away easily and Ono counters with a nice double leg into side control. Son won't be happy with that. Son trying to remain calm as Ono controls from the top position. Ono gets to mount! Son was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Ono controlling from the full mount. Son is desperately trying to improve his position but Ono has a good base and remains in mount. Ono controlling the position easily from mount. Ono working for a guillotine from mount but Son is in no mood to give up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Ono tries to control but Son wriggling away. Ono with a couple of short strikes. Son working to try and regain half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Ono controlling from mount. Son tries to reverse the position but Ono maintains control. Ono controlling the position easily from mount. Son is looking to get to half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Damian Son has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Takihashi Ono is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Son throwing hammer fists to the chest of Ono. What's that going to do exactly?
And that's the end of the fight! Takihashi Ono comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Ono winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
