And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 28 wins and 53 losses; Vartan Esteves! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Edson Gomes and Paulo Santos.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Esteves tries to close the distance and clinch but Schaubi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Schaubi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Esteves. Schaubi moves into the clinch successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round. Esteves is fighting to break Schaubi's control of his arms but Schaubi is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Schaubi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Esteves can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. That's seven minutes gone in the round. Esteves prevents Schaubi from getting the reversal. Schaubi is working hard here to advance position. Esteves wants to control but instead Schaubi manages to regain half guard. Schaubi wants to control but Esteves is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Esteves keeping moving, preventing Schaubi from controlling successfully. Schaubi slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Schaubi trying to control the position from guard on top but Esteves is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Schaubi will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Schaubi tries to free his leg and advance position but Esteves is retaining full guard. Esteves is trying to control the position but Schaubi postures up. Schaubi is stalling in the full guard. Schaubi wants to control from the top but Esteves keeps moving. Schaubi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Schaubi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Esteves wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. And that's the end of the fight! Esteves wins on points by 3 to 2. Vartan Esteves very nearly forgot to thank Silverback Sweatshop amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name.
