Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Channing Barnes (ranked 5221 p4p, 2875 weight class) and Luis Gomes (ranked 273 p4p, 0 weight class). Gomes has chosen Highway to Hell AC/DC as his entrance music. Luis Gomes has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Channing Barnes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luis Gomes!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gomes's half guard.
Barnes decides to return to a standing position.
Barnes fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gomes to the ground. Barnes is now in Gomes's guard.
Barnes throwing strikes from guard but Gomes blocks nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barnes decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Gomes fails with the takedown
and Barnes holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Gomes is trying to pull guard but Barnes has him pressed against the cage.
Barnes gets control of Gomes's arms and successfully pulls guard. Barnes will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Barnes wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Barnes has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Gomes should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Barnes has tightened it up now! Gomes should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
