Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Lashley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - For Whom the Bell Tolls. Lashley has chosen Ya Boy feat. Lil Wayne- Rain Man as his entrance music. Ryan Lashley looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brian Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Ryan Lashley!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Reed Andrews and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a sloppy head kick and Lashley moves out of range easily.
Lashley looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jones.
Jones lands a high kick to the side of Lashley's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Jones dives into guard, looking to finish.


It looks like Ryan Lashley has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Lashley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jones with a flurry of punches that miss.

Lashley keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.
Jones passes Lashley's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Jones trying to pass the guard but Lashley defending well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Jones tries a head kick but it misses.
A head kick misses from Jones.
Jones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lashley avoids the head kick by Jones.

Lashley instigates a clinch.
Lashley goes for a takedown attempt but Jones pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jones tries a head kick but it misses.
Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Lashley should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Lashley drives through with a takedown into guard.

Jones wants to sweep but no luck.
Lashley forces his way into half guard.
Lashley stalling away here and it's allowed Jones to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Jones trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Jones looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lashley looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Jones wants to sweep here but Lashley controlling him for the moment.

Lashley trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.
Jones controls Lashley momentarily but Lashley frees himself.

Jones looking for a guillotine here but Lashley defends easily.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Jones throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Lashley.
Jones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jones throws a head kick that misses.
Jones wants to clinch but Lashley slips to the side

and Lashley counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jones won't be happy with that.
Jones tries to escape but Lashley is in control.
Jones gets back to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jones is looking for a sweep. Lashley is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Jones wants to control but Lashley is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones looking for submissions off his back.
Lashley is taking a breather. Jones says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Jones is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Lashley pulls his head out easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jones is trying to maintain the position but Lashley is very close to passing his half guard.
Lashley is just content to waste time from the top position. Jones takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Jones not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Jones misses with a head kick.
Jones lands a head kick. Lashley smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Lashley blocks a head kick by Jones.

Lashley closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lashley lands in his opponent's guard.
Jones can't keep his opponent in guard - Lashley advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Lashley decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Brian Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jones throws a head kick that misses.
Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Lashley shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Lashley wants to pass the guard but Jones is keeping the position.

Lashley controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Ryan Lashley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Jones using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Lashley has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Jones is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones has had enough of the clinch but Lashley keeps him there for the moment.
Lashley wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jones has him pressed against the cage.
Jones can't break the clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Jones tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lashley just stands there and leans against the cage.

Jones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jones tries a head kick but it misses.
Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Lashley avoids the head kick by Jones.
Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Lashley drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Jones is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Lashley's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Lashley is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Lashley thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jones's head.
Lashley prevents Jones from standing back up.
Jones is trying to get back to full guard.
Ryan Lashley has got the better of the ground game so far.
Jones makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jones.
Lashley trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Jones is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lashley doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Jones is tightening it up a little... Lashley has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Lashley reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Lashley taps out! nice BJJ there by Jones!
