Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kidson Souza (ranked 4090 p4p, 4120 weight class) and Dante Robinson (ranked 406 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Souza darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Robinson kicks off Souza and gets to his feet.
Robinson throws a right hand that Souza ducks under and follows up with a left that Souza also avoids with ease.
Robinson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Souza is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Robinson.
Robinson misses with a few strikes there.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Souza has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Robinson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Souza keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Robinson's efforts to push away.
Souza is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Robinson is defending well for now.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Robinson is on top in guard.

Robinson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Souza's guard.

Souza leaves Robinson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Robinson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Souza as he jumps to the side.
Souza is looking to counter the offense by Robinson and move into the clinch.

Souza shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Souza showed some decent athleticism there.

Robinson has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Souza is on him like a limpet, forcing Robinson back against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Souza jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Robinson walks away with a smile on his face. Souza gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

As Robinson tries to get set, Souza tries to push him back and clinch up but Robinson manages to avoid the attempt.

Robinson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Souza is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Robinson, into his guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Souza perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Souza thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Robinson's head.
Souza is pressing down on Robinson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Robinson is holding on for now.
Robinson is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest.

Robinson gets caught napping as Souza dives in and scores a takedown. Robinson manages to retain guard.
Souza stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Robinson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Robinson holds on and takes a little breather.
Souza not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
