Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Salvador Jimenez (ranked 2007 p4p, 2727 weight class) and Flash Evans (ranked 150 p4p, 189 weight class). Evans has chosen Escape From The City as his entrance music. Salvador Jimenez could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Flash Evans's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Salvador Jimenez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Flash Evans! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jimenez throws a body punch but Evans moves out of range. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Evans throws a right and a left that both miss. Jimenez tries to counter with a takedown but Evans is quick to defend against it. Jimenez swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Evans wants a takedown.
Jimenez gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Evans.
Jimenez is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Evans can't fight it off and eventually Jimenez manages to take the fight to the floor. Evans looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Jimenez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jimenez is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Jimenez stands up over Evans, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jimenez sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Evans's guard. Evans is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. We've been hearing that Jimenez has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Jimenez seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Jimenez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Evans keeps working. Nice strikes from Jimenez there. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jimenez connects with a nice short shot to Evans's temple.
Evans is rocked! Evans pushes Jimenez off looking to stand but Jimenez dives back in and keeps control.
Jimenez slips a nice elbow through Evans's hands, connecting with Evans's forehead. Evans is still in real trouble! Can Jimenez finish him? We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Evans can do anything to dispel that myth. Jimenez lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Evans quite badly. Evans pulls Jimenez in close trying to recover. Jimenez postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Evans on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Evans doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Salvador Jimenez! Our winner, Salvador Jimenez, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
