Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rudy Beckwith (ranked 1680 p4p, 1099 weight class) and Deer Hunter (ranked 156 p4p, 114 weight class). Rudy Beckwith has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Rudy Beckwith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Deer Hunter!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Ackerman and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunter on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Hunter keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Hunter is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Beckwith.
Beckwith swings for the body but Hunter moves out of range.
Hunter misses with a straight right.
Beckwith is looking to counter punch.
Beckwith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hunter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Beckwith somewhat.
Beckwith shoots in for a double leg but Hunter sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Beckwith shoots in looking for a takedown but Hunter manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Beckwith's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Beckwith lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hunter tries to work over Beckwith's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Hunter lands a hook to the side of the head.
Hunter scores with a knee to the head.
Hunter blocks an uppercut.
Beckwith drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hunter gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Hunter lands a left hand that snaps the head of Beckwith backwards.
Beckwith is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Hunter swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Beckwith misses with a hook from the clinch.
Beckwith drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hunter gets the underhooks and prevents it.
A head punch on the inside from Hunter fails to land.
Hunter lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Beckwith lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Beckwith blocks an uppercut.
Hunter tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Hunter can't find room to land a body shot as Beckwith controls the action.
Hunter prevents a takedown attempt there.
Hunter misses with a hook to the ribs.
Beckwith is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hunter gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Beckwith is trying to trip Hunter. He has hold of a leg but Hunter is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Beckwith persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Beckwith is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Beckwith stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hunter swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hunter keeping moving, preventing Beckwith from controlling successfully.
Beckwith is really struggling to control Hunter but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Horrible takedown attempt by Beckwith or perhaps it was just good defense by Hunter, which made it look bad.

That's time! Beckwith's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Hunter throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Beckwith feints a jab promting Hunter to slip. Beckwith then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Hunter slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Hunter doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Beckwith shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hunter as he jumps to the side.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Beckwith is looking for a kimura but Hunter is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Beckwith to get the leverage.
Hunter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beckwith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hunter is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Beckwith postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hunter is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Beckwith, into his guard.

Hunter wants to control from the top but Beckwith keeps moving.
Beckwith bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hunter's guard.

Deer Hunter is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Hunter is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Beckwith trying to hold on to Hunter's head to control him but Hunter postures up.
Still in half guard, Hunter seems content to control.
Hunter seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Beckwith does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Rudy Beckwith overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hunter passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Beckwith!
Beckwith is wriggling around trying to escape.

Beckwith is squirming around, avoiding Hunter's attempts to control the action.
Beckwith tries to reverse the position but Hunter maintains control.
Hunter is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Beckwith is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Beckwith bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Hunter controls Beckwith momentarily but Beckwith frees himself.
Beckwith is looking to work some ground and pound but Hunter has wrist control.

I would just about give that final round to Deer Hunter.
