PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Cena (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bull Durham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cena's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, My Time is Now. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A good leg kick by Durham.
Durham misses with a low kick.

Cena feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Durham might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cena kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Durham shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cena as he jumps to the side.
Cena misses with a two punch combination.

Cena shoots in and bounces Durham off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Cena seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Durham for as long as he can get away with.
Cena has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee stands the fighters back up. John Cena just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Cena has control of Durham's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Durham regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Durham misses with a wild body shot.
Cena shoots in but Durham avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Durham slips a jab and a cross from Cena.

Cena looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Durham!

Cena looking to secure an arm triangle but Durham defends it well.
Cena misses with a head shot.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cena goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Durham turns into him and now he's in Cena's guard.
Cena really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Durham stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cena swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cena wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Cena is working hard here to advance position.
Durham being controlled here momentarily.

Cena had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Durham is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Cena Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Durham's back instead.
What can Durham do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Cena working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Cena misses with an elbow to the head.

Cena is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Durham has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cena controls the action.
Durham tries to roll but Cena sticks to his back.
Cena really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Durham.
Cena's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Bull Durham has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cena, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
