The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Griffin is able to avoid easily.
Griffin is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Jones has managed to clinch.
A short body shot lands from Griffin as the two fighters clinch.
Jones throws an elbow but it misses.
Griffin definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Jones keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Griffin's efforts to push away.
Griffin tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Jones's elbow.
Jones goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Griffin tries to throw a body punch but Jones avoids it by throwing Griffin back against the cage.
With the fighters up against the cage, Jones throws an elbow but misses.
Jones lands a damaging elbow.

It looks like Peter Griffin has been cut.
Griffin trying to control the position but instead, Jones has worked for underhooks and has pushed Griffin into the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Griffin tries to work over Jones's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Jones can't find room to land a body shot as Griffin controls the action.
Griffin could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Griffin is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Jones gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Jones is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Griffin can't fight it off and eventually Jones manages to take the fight to the floor. Griffin looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Jones decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Jones uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Griffin.
Jones is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Griffin with a body shot.
Griffin throws a right and a left that both miss.
A big right from Griffin misses.
Griffin throws an overhand right that lands on Jones's shoulder, as Jones tries to avoid the shot.

Jones fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Griffin, pushing him back against the cage.
Griffin misses with a short punch on the inside.
Jones swings wildly with an uppercut but Griffin uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jones lands a damaging elbow.

Griffin is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Jones gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Jones creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Griffin's defenses.

Peter Griffin's cut is getting worse.

Jones gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Jones stands up from half guard.
A looping hook to the body misses from Griffin. Jones does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jones uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Griffin.
Jones wants to counter with a clinch but Griffin pushes him away.
Griffin looks to score with a jab to the body but Jones is just out of range.
Jones takes a swing at Griffin's ribcage but misses.
It looked like Griffin wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Griffin avoids a kick to the body.
A low kick from Jones is predictable there
and Griffin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Griffin misses the body punch

and Jones counters by clinching up.
Griffin is looking to break free of the clinch but Jones has double underhooks.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Jones lands an elbow that stopped Griffin in his tracks for a moment.

Peter Griffin's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Jones lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Jones decides to return to a standing position.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Griffin prevents a body shot from Jones.
Jones misses with a hook to the ribs.
Jones pushes off an throws an elbow but Griffin leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Griffin misses with the head strike.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Griffin creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Jones lands an elbow just above Griffin 's eye.

Jeez, Peter Griffin's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Peter Griffin's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
