Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Common Carp (ranked 2850 p4p, 4593 weight class) and Shoyoroll Shanks (ranked 314 p4p, 463 weight class). Common Carp could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Shoyoroll Shanks's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Common Carp! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shoyoroll Shanks! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Shimada and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shanks misses with an uppercut. Carp throws a lazy right hand but Shanks sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Carp throws a low kick but it's checked well by Shanks. Carp looks to land a right hand but Shanks moved out of range. Shanks looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Common Carp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shanks throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Carp definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Shanks ducks under a wild hook from Carp. Carp lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
It looks like Shoyoroll Shanks has been cut. Carp misses with a wild body shot. A nice leg kick from Carp, right into the meat of the thigh.
Shanks looks to land a combination. Carp sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. A looping hook to the body misses from Shanks. Carp does a little dance to reset his feet. Shanks moves out of range of the strikes. Carp lands an overhand right. Carp tests Shanks's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Shanks is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Shanks stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Carp. Shanks is still on wobbly legs! Can Carp finish him? Carp cracks Shanks with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Shanks tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Carp pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Shanks is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Common Carp! During a confident post fight interview, Common Carp thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
