This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 16 wins and 13 losses; Roman Kersikov! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 31 wins and 39 losses; Gaston Juncker! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Juncker goes for a double leg but Kersikov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kersikov continues to drive forward. Juncker fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kersikov to the ground. Juncker is now in Kersikov's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Kersikov (0) vs (2) Juncker Juncker wants to pass the guard but Kersikov is keeping the position. Kersikov is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Juncker forces his way into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Juncker is controlling the pace.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kersikov is letting Juncker control him for a moment. Juncker tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Kersikov can't do much from the bottom here. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

That's six minutes gone in the round. Who's going to make the next move? Kersikov is looking to reverse the position. Kersikov manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! That's nine minutes gone in the round. Juncker is being controlled here. Kersikov seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Juncker for as long as he can get away with. Juncker tries to improve position but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kersikov is staying tight to Juncker's torso, preventing him from escaping. Kersikov is looking to take a break and control but Juncker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Juncker tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kersikov wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Juncker struggling a bit here. Kersikov is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Juncker will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Juncker stops Kersikov from passing to mount. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Score +2 for reaching mount: Kersikov (7) vs (5) Juncker Kersikov controlling from the full mount. Juncker is squirming around, avoiding Kersikov's attempts to control the action.
That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Kersikov controlling from the full mount. Juncker working to try and regain half guard.
Juncker wants to control but Kersikov is having none of it. Kersikov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Kersikov tries to take Juncker's back but instead Juncker uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Kersikov trying to control the pace. Juncker is looking to improve his position.
