Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Robert Zhirkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Slim Goodbody (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Mauricio Rocha and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zhirkov misses with a double jab.
Zhirkov throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Zhirkov throws a chopping leg kick but Goodbody manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Zhirkov circles away from the clinch attempt.
Goodbody defending well as Zhirkov loads up on a big left hand.

Zhirkov really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Goodbody looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Zhirkov misses with an uppercut. Goodbody saw that one coming.
Goodbody slaps away a takedown attempt from Zhirkov, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Zhirkov looks to throw the jab but Goodbody is out of range.
A jab-cross combination lands for Zhirkov and sends Goodbody crashing to the mat! Zhirkov follows him down to the mat - Goodbody regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Zhirkov looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

so Goodbody counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robert Zhirkov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Goodbody pushes down on Zhirkov's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Goodbody is thwarting Zhirkov's attempts to control the position.

Goodbody is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Zhirkov to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Zhirkov doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Robert Zhirkov will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Zhirkov lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Zhirkov will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Zhirkov scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Zhirkov misses with a straight left.
Goodbody tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Zhirkov paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Robert Zhirkov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Goodbody wants to clinch.
Goodbody is trying hard to land a takedown here. Zhirkov sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Zhirkov drops Goodbody with a left and a right! Oh, Goodbody is hurt - Zhirkov dives into side control looking to finish!

Goodbody tries to buck Zhirkov off but Zhirkov is having none of it.
Goodbody pushes Zhirkov away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Zhirkov gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Zhirkov is chipping away with strikes.
Goodbody manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Goodbody is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Zhirkov trying to control the action but Goodbody is working from the bottom.
Zhirkov uses his free foot to push down on Goodbody's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Goodbody.
Goodbody wants to hold on but Zhirkov pushes him away.
Zhirkov landing strikes from the mount and Goodbody is in trouble!
Goodbody tries to reverse the position but Zhirkov maintains control.
Zhirkov is going olschool here, as he tries to force Goodbody to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Goodbody shrugs it off.
Goodbody has given up his back here.

Zhirkov is hanging on to Goodbody's back as he tries to escape.
Goodbody is breathing heavily.
Zhirkov is working for a rear naked choke. Goodbody is not defending it well and Zhirkov has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Goodbody refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Goodbody's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
