Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Minatay Mibangon (ranked 23875 p4p, 23895 weight class) and Walay Buut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 31 - 50 - 9, fighting out of Las Vegas, Minatay Mibangon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 47 - 40 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walay Buut! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Buut closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mibangon circles away. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Mibangon fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Buut thinks about the counter body kick. Mibangon fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Buut follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. Buut fails miserably with a takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mibangon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Buut looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buut being controlled for a moment. Buut is holding Mibangon down, trying to stall. Buut is looking for a sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Buut struggling a bit here. Buut is being controlled here. Buut can't do much from the bottom here. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Buut wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Buut. Minatay Mibangon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Walay Buut. Mibangon fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. No luck for Mibangon with that takedown attempt. And Buut responds with a good body kick, but Mibangon manages to step out the way in time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Buut shoots for a double leg takedown but Mibangon sprawls well. He's pushed Buut's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Mibangon is looking to counter with a body kick. Mibangon blocks the body kick.
Mibangon jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Buut misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Mibangon is looking for a counter combo. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Buut shoots in for a takedown but Mibangon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. It appears Mibangon was looking to counter with a kick there. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Minatay Mibangon dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Buut shoots in and gets a takedown into Mibangon's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Mibangon pulls Buut in close to prevent any damage. Mibangon's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Buut engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mibangon is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mibangon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Buut's guard. Mibangon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Buut trying to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mibangon content to stall in guard here. Buut is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Buut shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mibangon pinned against the cage. Mibangon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buut shoots for a takedown but Mibangon saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Mibangon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Mibangon taking a breather here. Buut tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mibangon wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Buut is not content to let Mibangon control the position. Mibangon slows the pace down. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Minatay Mibangon dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round! Buut shoots in for a takedown but Mibangon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Mibangon went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Mibangon gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Buut counters with a series of strikes. Mibangon will be more careful next time no doubt. Mibangon leaves Buut with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buut shoots in but no luck this time. Mibangon throws a quick counter kick to the body but Buut avoids it. Minatay Mibangon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Walay Buut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mibangon misses with a takedown attempt and Buut counters with a leg kick. Mibangon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Mibangon is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Mibangon trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Buut manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Buut's corner is telling him to maintain position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mibangon doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Mibangon is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Buut can do to turn this around? Mibangon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Buut as he avoids it easily. Mibangon slaps away a takedown attempt from Buut, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Nice sprawl there from Buut as Mibangon shoots in. Mibangon gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Buut to score an easy takedown into full guard. Walay Buut has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Minatay Mibangon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Mibangon wants to sweep here but Buut controlling him for the moment.
And that's the end of the fight! Walay Buut comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Mibangon has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
